Cris DiNofa was first introduced to Brazilian jiu-jitsu in 2008, at the suggestion of a high school wrestling teammate. He continued to train jiu-jitsu during his time at Appalachian State University, running the local Jiu Jitsu club, and eventually graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. He then went on to complete his Doctorate in Physical Therapy and has since worked in multiple states as a traveling physical therapist before returning to settle in Wilmington.
While Cris maintained his passion for jiu-jitsu, he trained wherever he moved to, allowing him to train and compete throughout the US. As an instructor, Cris brings his biomechanical perspective to his method of teaching and strives to ensure his students’ understanding.
Cris works full-time as a physical therapist in Wilmington and lives with his girlfriend and cat, Pancake. Outside of jiu-jitsu, he loves photography, going to local coffee shops, the beach, and lifting weights.
